You should use dstype = DELIMITED that will allow you to save
in CSV or EXCEL format.
By the way do have any idea about parameter form in reports6i.

Send Report Output to Excell?

Hi all,
how can I send the Report Output to Excell?
Can anybody help me?
Regards
Hi,
We can't send/generate the report output to excel the way we could do using pdf or html.
But, you have an option of viewing the report output using excel by setting up vaild MIME Type in the Oracle Application Viewer.
The Oracle Application Viewer needs a valid MIME Type that is used by the Browser in order to transfer the Oracle Report Output from Oracle Applications to the browser using FNDWRR.exe and then to a Microsoft Excel.
If this is what you are looking for ,then I can send you more information on how you can acheive viewing the report with excel.
thanks
The Oracle Reports Team
Leonid,
Reports has the format desformat=delimiteddata (and also
desformat = delimited) with which you can generated a complete .csv file which can be opened in MS Excel.
This is a very common usage and delimiteddata
is manily used for Excel
Thanks

Hi,
You can send report to EXCEL sheet in indirect way,
what I used to do for getting the info into excel is
the parameters that you have set is
MODE : CHARACTER
DESTINATION NAME : C:\\\......PATH
DESTYPE : FILE
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED.
1. Run report with the above parameter and give the destination name .txt file
2. open the text file in excel with file type .csv
and mark the separators and save as excel file.
Hello,
If you are using Oracle9i Reports, you can use the JSP to generate an Excel output.
You can find a demonstration here:

We do this using Reports 6 and 6i. Create a character-mode report which uses the Excel SLK (sometimes SYLK) file format. Make sure the output has the file extension ".SLK". There is a standard MIME type set up for this in Windows, so either the report will automatically open in Excel, or you will be prompted if you want to open it or save it.
There is no good documentation for the SLK format, but it is relatively easy to divine.

Hello,
If your question is about the format spreadsheet, it is not possible from Reports Builder :
http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/reports/10.1.2/topics/htmlhelp_rwbuild_hs/rwwhthow/whatare/output/output_a_simpleexcel.htm
Restrictions
It is not possible to generate spreadsheet output directly from Reports Builder. Instead, on the command line, you can run the report using rwrun or Reports Server clients (rwservlet, rwclient, rwcgi), with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET. You cannot store DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET as a system parameter value in the report definition (.rdf file).
