Oracle Graphics - Forms

Hi,
In my Project I have been asked to Develop Graphs and it must be
scheduled to Run on NT. The DB is Oracle 8i.
Can Oracle Graphics be scheduled to Run say using a batch file
or something.
Where do we get Oracle Graphics Doc?
Thanks
Thiru

Yes it's possible to run graphics from a batchfile. As you can
se in the example below You can also pass parameters.
Example:
GORUN60 openfile=StatProc.ogr pStationstyp=2 pStationsnr=3
pGrafnr1=1 pGrafnr2=2 UID=UID PWD=PWD DB=DB window_state=maximize

TranslatorHub command-line executable

I use TranslationHub every day for translation few forms or reports. All processes (copy of sources, compile, reports transform RDF<->REX and so on) are driven via batch. Only main translation - I have to search modules in trees of TranslationHub user interface and run it manually.
I try OTBATCH for run TranslationHub from command line. It's great. It's possible to module import, it's possible to update TRANS projects. But it is not possible to launch main translation. Does is other tool exist for batch processing?
Hi,
no, there is no other batch processing utility than using the otbatch command.
What do you mean by
Only main translation - I have to search modules in trees of TranslationHub user interface and run it manually
Frank
Hi!
Actually I cannot find otbatch in 10g developer suite, but it exists in 9i ds. Where is it gone?
Another question: where can I find documentation for otbatch?

Torsten

Thank you! I find it! How about the documetation question?

my_big_problem

Hi,
I use Borland Enterprise JBuilder 8 to develope my java application,
so I have two questions (help me as you can):
1-I have Oracle database on my own computer -Oracle server 9i-
so, how can I connect my java application to oracle databse, so what tool
that is included in the JBuilder provides the connection to either Oracle DB
or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DB. Please send me the detailed answer.
2- Is there any report software like Crystal Report that I can use it to
display my reports that include retrieval data from my database.
So if there, what is it? and how can I run it via java code?
Please send me the detailed answer.
Thanks a lot.
Why do you insist on detailed answers... couldn't it be short and sweet?
Hi baddy,
OK, give me the easiest and sweet answer?
databse, so what tool
that is included in the JBuilder provides the
connection to either Oracle DB
or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DB. Please send me the
detailed answer.No tool. Use JDBC.
2- Is there any report software like Crystal Report
that I can use it to
display my reports that include retrieval data from
my database. Why would you want something other than Crystal Reports. They are good enough.

I Want to know???

i want to know in details , how to execute an oracle database with oracle designer10g. (im a developer)
Hi,
You may need to be more specific as to what your question means.
Do you want to know how to run Designer 10g against a database or do you have Designer10g working and want to know how to design a database?
Steve
I want to know how to extract database object, forms, and reports as an exe file, to use it without installing oracle (like a flash movie 'for example' or like a microsoft access database) how to use an oracle database without runinng oracle if avaliable??
Amani;
I would imagine you can install Forms and Reports and look at them without an Oracle database. Designer won't work without a database. If you want to see what they will look like then have a browse around OTN as there are several demos that will show you this (which may well be flash movies)
In the end, you would need an Oracle database to really use the tools.

Run 11g report from the database?

Is there a way to run an Oracle 11g report from the database?
I just want PDF file output.
"The Event-Driven Publishing API is a PL/SQL API that allows for the automatic submission of jobs to Oracle Reports Services from within the database."
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/b32121/pbr_evnt.htm#g1011531
That would seem to be just what is needed.
However, the SRW package is not installed in this database, so I guess I'm out of luck.
Currently, a cron job kicks off a korn shell on the reports server to process scheduled reports. This has been problematic, but will have to put up with it.
Thank you.
You don't have to install it as SYS or SYSTEM. You can install the srw package in any schema. I installed it in our application schema, just like any other application package.
Cool.
Can I download just the SRW code to install then? If it's a only DBA thing, then I'm stuck.
I tried to search for it, but Oracle's page crashes & google didn't return anything of value.

I will explore using utl_http as well.
Thanks
I can't say for 11g, but for Reports 10g you'll find the package in:
<Oracle Home>\reports\admin\sql
I will explore using utl_http as wellThe srw package is built on top of that, so yes, you can also do it yourself.

is there any tools to compare 2 fmb files?

Hello,
Is there any tools that can compare 2 fmb files ?
thank you
Yes... Any advanced text editor with a difference/compare feature.. (Toad, textpad, Word, and I think Dreamweaver, etc...)
1. convert each fmb to xml using iff2xml90. See the form help. Basically..
c:\myforms\iff2xml90 myfunkyform.fmb         --> writes myfunkyform_fmb.xml
c:\myforms\iff2xml90 myotherfunkyform.fmb    --> writes myotherfunkyform_fmb.xml2. Open in an advanced text editor and show the diffs of the xml files.
There is also the unix "diff" command. convert to xml first though..

..and windows fc command ... (file compare)

FormsAPImaster from :
http://www.orcl-toolbox.com/
Also lets you search or manipulate multiple source code files (fmb/pll/rdf etc)
form diff
http://www.aug10.com/products/FormDiff/
30 day free trial
for some reason formdiff works in the form grep tool.
You can also use the Oracle repository supplied with Dev suite to compare .fmb's
do you mean the Oracle Designer Repository, where you capture the forms and save them in the repository ?
I've never heard of it being called the "Oracle Designer Repository" but I've only worked with the version supplied with 9i Dev Suite which is known as the Oracle Software Configuration Manager (SCM). You can upload forms into repository containers and there is a compare tool which can be handy for showing the difference between fmb's

scm is one of the parts of oracle designer and so I understand how you start the comparison. that's a good way to do it and you need no 3rd party products :-)
I created my own tool to FMBs comparison.
It's quite simple Windows Application, but it displays all differences in convenient way and it is absolutely FREE!!!
The application can compare single files or folders. Only 6i version at present.
All interested in testing are welcome. (priv)
