TimesTen 6.0.2 AIX unable to unzip

I am unable to unzip (untar) this 64bit version of TimesTen. I get the following:
gzip: timesten602.aix64.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error
I download it to my windows box then i ftp (using binary) to the AIX box.
it comes across as timesten602.aix64.tar.tar, then for the heck of it i renamed it to timesten602.aix64.tar.gz.
Using tar I get the following:
tar: 0511-169 A directory checksum error on media; 0 not equal to 66369.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do here?
worked around this. i downloaded it through firefox. should have done that in the first place.

I have downloaded the file "lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz" twice now and cannot gunzip it?? I get a not a recognized gzip format error. The other two files I can open but not the first?? The file size as stated on the webpage is suppose to be 522megs but the download is over 600??
I am also having problems reading the disk 1 cpio archive for http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle9i/9201/lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz.
I used a download manager and downloaded twice. But still I'm
getting the same premature end of file error. My command to expand the archive:
$ gunzip < lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz | cpio -ivmud
I have no problems with the disk2 or disk3.
