9i: Listener, endpoints and services - Heterogeneous Connectivity

Hi,
I want to do B2B on an Oracle 9i DB.
No Tomcat, no Apache, no 9iAS, nothing but 9i EE DB!!
If you have a listener on a port, maybe 9950
and you don't choose the DB-Service stuff
you can put in a service written by yourself.
Can you?
Which interfaces do I have to implement.
oracle.ds.engine.InputAdaptor
Write an Adapter?
I searched:
http://tahiti.oracle.com/pls/db901/db901.drilldown?remark=&word=S
ervice&book=&preference=
And I'm too stupid to fully understand the task?
Please help me out on that!
Thanks,
:-)
Volker.

Hi.
I wanted to know how
i can connect to my server(normal server i build not
sql)What kind of server? FTP server? Webserver? Application server? Database server? Repository server? Echo server? Mail server? ...
using a website and be able to send\recieve data
what kind of language i need to use to build the
website(asp,php)?HTML
have any Tutorials or article that can help me?Probably lots, but as long as you're not clear about what you want to do, I can't suggest anything. If you ewant to handle HTML forms, pick whichever language to like to write the server-side stuff. ASP, servlets, PHP, Perl, C, whatever. Most likely it depends on what your webhoster supports.
the idea is to build a server that handle database(mdb file) file in my computer
and if i want something to change i will change it in my website
1.the website will connect to my server and send a command
2. the server will recieve the command and see what he need to do
im working on the server file but im still dont know how to start with the website
any ideas?
this is done all the time, but it's not easy.
if you have to ask, you can't do it today.
start learning about JSP, servlets, and JDBC. Those are the pieces you'll need.
But they won't be enough. you'll have to learn about how to design dynamic web sites. plenty of examples (e.g., amazon, yahoo, google, etc.)
%
i dont understand why i need to learn any of this things you wrote
i only need to connect to the server and send/recieve some commands
this isnt possible in asp?
i mean there has to be a function that connect to a server and send a string,
no?
can you explain this to me?
So, do you want to create a server, or do you want to connect to a server that already exists? And what's this confusing stuff about a website connecting to a server?
It sounds to me like you don't have a clue about how things work. Either that or you don't know English well enough to explain your requirements. Or maybe both. In either case I would suggest you should find somebody who can explain your requirements to us in coherent English.
i already built a server
and i want to build a web site that connect to the server and send/recieve him commands
what you didnt understand?

Jscape - How to know the OS on the remote server

Hi I am working with the JSCAPE API for Secure FTP . I need to know the OS of the server I am connecting to. Is there a way to do that??
Reply ASAP
Seems to me this page would be a good place to start looking for the answer:
http://www.jscape.com/support.html
It's also worth mentioning that in standard FTP it is not easy (and often not possible) to know what OS the remote server is running. So perhaps needing to know that is a symptom of some other problem?

Open port, but cannot connect to web server with JConsole

Hello, I'm an IT engineer from S.Korea(trully, I'm a new comer and not good at English).
A company I'm working at has set up network for security services(firewall - L2 - L4 - Web Server).
Although a port is opened I cannot connect to w/s with JConsole. I mean I can't remote control the web server.
I'm terribly sorry for less information and my English but if you guys know please let me know what I need to do.
Thanks.
In order to control which ports are used by the JMX agent you need to start it in a specific manner.
Have a look at the JConsole FAQ point 7 for more detailed info:
http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/management/faq.html
Thanks, it works.
and I appologise, if I offended.

oracle wireless

Hi,
i am new to this oracle wireless thing.
in every tutorial /doc i found that i can make use of some web services exposed by oracle at http://messenger.oracle.com/xms/webservices and run some demos.
but if want to send commercially what do i need to know and do.
is there any tutorial on the implementation of the web services?
also where from can i get the java doc of the oracle.panama.messaging.xms.* package
can any one help me out
regards
hi smajumder,
Same problem is with me, i also want to use as a commercial but didnt get any valid response, i dont think that oracle want to promote its wireless. we get very few info.
i also search lot but didnt get any way how to use XMS webservices as a commercial.
Hi Majumdar,
For the last couple of days I was working on this and have couple of answers. But I still have to test with the actual setup rather than oracle test webservice url given by you.
1) I installed Oracle Wireless 10g (This needs OID and Infrastructure, so I did install them as well) and started all wireless components. from here I got the URL for the web service which I need to use for commercial purpose.
The sample URL I got is as follows
http://<myhostname>:<myport>/xms/webservices
2) You need to have a gateway subscription, so I got a free one from multimedia inc. actually they told me that they are creating/activating my account.
Now I guess we are good to go and test our application for commercial purposes.
This is what I found. I may be wrong but if any one really made it working, please share with us.
Now the panama package, is available at
http://matrix.csustan.edu/docs/oracle/oas/wireless.1012/b14043/index.html
It is not oracle site, but helps me to understand API.
Hope it helps....
Cheers

Oracle DBANo, he does need it. ODBC drivers DO NOT replace the native db client binaries. They just sit on top them to provide a consistent call interface for applications.

what are these client libraries?First, you need to pick a thread and stick with it. How many different threads do you have going now, all dealing with the same issue?
